HOW IT BEGAN

The Fighters Foundation was founded by cancer survivor Joshua Iskierka, and his wife Alexis after he went through his own personal battle with thyroid cancer.  

 

The Iskierkas received a donation in the mail with a note that said this was to be used to help pay for expenses and costs incurred from traveling to and from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. It was such a blessing to receive something like this and brought such a lift in morale that they decided they would like to be able to do the same thing for others.

 

In August of 2016, The Fighters Foundation was born. Joshua and Alexis, along with brother-in-law Justin Hildebrand D.C. make up the governing board for the foundation.
